What does Mark Perlman think?

It seems from all the controversial statements the police made (“There were 20 of them surrounding us,” “They threw me on the ground,” “They started strangling me,” “I was about to arrest one when they took me in a headlock,” etc.) that there really was no good reason for shoot Fredy. The fact that they’ve actually had to take back some of the allegations they’ve made points towards a lot of what they said being lies in the first place. My guess is that they (LaPointe and Pilotte) killed Fredy, realized that they hadn’t been provoked nearly enough to kill the boy, and so they started spitting out lies to justify it. Then, later on, when the real facts of the case started coming out, they had to rescind some of the lies they said and admit that they were wrong. Now that the Inquest has started, I hope that the real version of what happened will come out and the death of an innocent person will be revealed as the murder it really was.

Phone Call with Criminal Department

Inquest.

October 26th 2009, Judge Perreault will be in Room 515 at the Montreal Courthouse. (Palais de Justice: 1 Notre-Dame east). The woman on the phone was uncertain what the coroners inquest was. She said after 34 years of working at the Montreal Courthouse she has never heard about such a thing. She did not know if people were allowed to sit in and does not think that the montreal population will be able to get transcripts of the event.
